This painting is my procrastination project. I worked on it every once in a while over the course of four years (2020-2024). It's done in acrylic painting on a 3' x 4' canvas, but with the cardboard frame it's just about 5' x 5'. As I grew as an artist through these years (last two years of high school and first two of college), I could see my skillset refine in how I approached rendering this piece. I approached the project with a different stylistic rendering than Matt Groening's original illustration, with a more brushstroke, impressionistic, and textured look, giving it the depth and detail it otherwise would have lacked on this big of a canvas.
I went from sitting on my floor with my wired headphones to a full on easel and hand-me-down air pods creating this piece that now sits on the only wall big enough in my room. Crazy.
