This is from my very first semester in college, and while I already had a good understanding of illustrator and photoshop from high school, these projects taught me a lot. This assignment from Digital Art was to create a video game and then create concept art of its home Screen and HUD screen. The idea for the game was just more for fun than actuality, though I would play it as a raging Simpsons fan. You play as people from the show "The Simpsons" that had some sort of vendetta against Homer Simpson, and you track him down and try to kill him.
The side bar (right) shows your lives (donuts), level (beer mug), and inventory (box). Bottom center is your character chosen and health. Top left is Lisa Simpson, his daughter, who acts as the guide, giving hints and updates.
We had a competition/ voting round through the class on who had the best concept/ design (for fun of course), and I believe it was down to me and someone that had a barbie v.s. G.I. Joe (or something to that nature), and I of course lost to that beast of a concept. But it was still very fun and a great learning experience for photoshop and making quality concept art within a digital setting.
